SIZE and WEIGHT
These are one of the giant breeds of the dog world. They grow to between 26/28 inches to 36 inches and weigh between 10 to 15 stones (150 - 200 lbs).
SPACE and EXERCISE
Although a St Bernard is huge it requires only a short daily walk and could live in an apartment.
TRANSPORT
This dog will easily take up the whole of the back seat of the car. So if you have children too, you may need a larger car when you puppy grows.
TRAINING
Training of any giant breed is essential or walking them can become a nightmare.
NATURE
These dogs are real 'gentle giants'. They love children and are good humoured and tolerant. They rarely bark but will defend your home and person if necessary. If raised with other pets they accept them easily.
