Brambull the Bulldog

HISTORY

Bulldogs appear to derive some of their heritage from the Mastiff race and were similarly used for guarding and attacking wild animals. However the size of these early Bulldogs was varied.

Originally, used for bull or bear baiting where their stance gave weight and power. The distinctive Bulldog faces were supposed to help protect their eyes from sharp teeth. Their short stature and thick neck muscles also aided their survival when attacking bulls or bears as their musculature gave some protection to their spines in combat.

More recently and famously the Bulldog was used to symbolise the strength and tenacious character of the British people during the Second World War.
